Mancherial is a Municipal town in Adilabad district in the south Indian state of Telangana.
Mancherial was previously called "GARMILLA". Mancherial is the first and the largest urban area in Adilabad Dist. Mancherial is located on the north banks of Godavari  River. It is situated 253 kilometres  north east of state capital Hyderabad.


As of 2011 Census, there are 86,911 inhabitants. Mancherial is a commercial hub of the coal belt area of Singareni collieries.It has a thriving market for agricultural produce. It is on the main north-south railway route from Delhi to Chennai. The major junctions up north are Wardha in Maharashtra and Kazipet in Warangal District to the south. Mancherial is very close to Sripada yellampalli project which is the largest project ever in these areas.


Mahankali Jatara (Quarry jatara) is conducted every year which attracts many people in and around the Surroundings.
Samakka sarakka jatra is done on the banks of godavari for every 3 years and people from goliwada on the other bankside joins it.
Kawal wildlife sanctuary, pranahita wildlife sanctuary and shivaram wildlife sanctuary are just 40 km from Mancherial. It is a place with different cultures and traditions. Bathukamma is regarded as best festival over here.
